  My friend Jennifer, her two kids and myself spent a full afternoon throughout eastern Gunnison County. Our adventure began at Old Monarch Pass. |
  We then continued up and over Black Sage Pass. There is wonderful scenery up that way! |
  We headed towards the town of Pitkin and crossed over Waunita Pass. |
  Pitkin seemed like a really quaint and relaxed little town in the mountains. |
  Our visit to the Alpine Tunnel was probably the highlight of our trip. You can see a fuller picture collection of this area here: Alpine Tunnel. |
 Cumberland Pass is a very high mountain pass. Regretably, it was fairly cloudy and hazy during our visit. |
  And we crossed over one last pass, our fifth mountain pass, in Cottonwood Pass. We had a great day! |
